Printing Paws Rules and Guidelines

As our site grows and attracts new followers, we are encountering situations that we did not expect. Due to our increasing popularity, Printing Paws will follow a few simple rules from now on.

Please, have a close look at the following points, because we won’t give a second warning to anyone who does not abide by them.

Graphic requests

- Multiple fanfiction banner requests.
We will reject requests when the story already has an existing banner. We will reject requests when the author has asked multiple artists for a banner for the same story.

- We will stop creating graphics for anyone who doesn’t  recognise our work.
Printing Paws is a free service and the only thing we ask for is recognition for our work. We are not asking for a chapter-like note, but a simple line where you credit the artist and our blog is more than enough for us. Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge the source of the graphic we create loses the right to request further work from us in the future.

- Only pack or pack AH stories.
We won’t create banners for AU (i.e.: Leah as a witch, Jacob an elf) or non-pack related fanfiction. All stories we’ll work for need to have a member of the pack as main character –human or wolf.

- Finished requests will be delivered to you within a week.
All finished graphics will be emailed to you within seven days from the date you submit your request, unless there’s a problem, in which case, we’ll contact you as soon as possible. Please assume your request has been successful unless you hear otherwise from us and expect your finished graphic within a week.

- Chapter banners.
We have no problem creating them, but our priority is to create banners for stories that do not have a banner yet. This means that if you’re asking for a banner for a chapter, it may take more than seven days to complete your request.

- Sometimes we can’t create absolutely everything you request.
We try our absolute best and our artists are talented and willing to spend hours on your request when necessary, but some things simply cannot be done. Manips aren’t easy to create and we have limits.

We are willing to make edits to a piece of media within reason. Please remember we have other obligations to other authors and as a result, we will not be able to re-work your graphic more than twice.

- Pictures and quotes.
Sometimes we can’t use the picture(s) you include on your request because of their quality or size. We’ll try to work with the images you send us, but we reserve the right to create your graphic using our own pictures when yours are not appropriate. If you send us a lot of images, we will select those that we consider the best.

Choose your story quote carefully as extremely long quotes are unlikely to fit on a banner. We will include or omit quotes on a case by case basis, depending what looks best on the banner.

Authors can request for a particular manip available in the Adoption Center be used in the creation of a new banner request.

If you request a graphic that is never posted, we reserve the right to place the graphic for adoption.
When we customize a graphic for you, the expectation is that it will be posted with a story, or as part of a photo album, or visual inspiration. We will contact you prior to posting the graphic to the adoption center, but if we repeatedly find that any author is not displaying the graphic, we reserve the right to allow someone else to adopt the piece.

- If an author requests a graphic under false pretenses, we reserve the right to request its removal.
We reserve the right to request any author at any time remove one of our graphics.

- If you choose to pull a story, please contact us.
Authors reserve the right to remove their content from any site they wish. We ask that if this occurs, you inform us so that we may decide what to do with the graphic. If the story is pulled from the fandom, understand that the graphic may be posted for adoption.

When making requests from our adoption center, our guidelines include, but are not limited to the following, and by posting your request you acknowledge you agree to all rules:

- Changes will be done only by members of Printing Paws’ staff.
The only ones authorized to make changes on the adoptable banners are the members of Printing Paws’ staff. If anyone else takes a graphic and edits it without permission, you lose the right to request any work at Printing Paws’ blog, or choose an adoptable banner.

- Finished request will be delivered in within 24-48 hours.
All edited graphics will be sent to you within a day or two from the date you submit your request, unless there’s a problem, in which case, we’ll let you know.

- Title, name and quote changes only.
The only changes we’ll be making to the adoptable banners are adding the title of your story, your name, and a quote when possible. We will not make any other changes to pictures, colors or anything else. You have to adapt to the banner, not the other way round.

- There will be a limit of 1 adoption per author per month.
We want everyone to have a chance to choose a banner, so we are only allowing one adoption per author per month.

- WIP and completed stories first.
We want to avoid people from adopting banners and then not using them, so WIP (work in progress) and completed stories will be chosen before non-existent stories.

- If you adopt a graphic and it is not posted, we reserve the right to place the graphic back up for adoption.
When we customize a graphic for you, the expectation is that it will be posted with a story, or as part of a photo album, or visual inspiration. We will contact you prior to returning the graphic to the adoption center, but if we repeatedly find that any author is not displaying the graphic, we reserve the right to allow someone else to adopt the piece.

- We will stop creating graphics for anyone who doesn’t recognise our work.
Printing Paws' Adoption Center is a free service and the only thing we ask for is recognition.

-Adoptable manips must be credited in the byline.
If you adopt a manip from our adoption center, we recognize your right to edit it by changing the color (from color to B&W, etc), change the size/texture, or erase a background. You may not edit the manip to change the faces or characters shown. We required that credit be given as appropriate when posting an adoptable manip, even if it has been edited into a new story graphic. You may not adopt a manip and use it to fulfill a request to an author. If the author wants to use a Printing Paws manip, they should make a request through the site.

If any of these rules above are broken, we reserve the right to stop creating any future work for you.

If you have questions regarding whether or not we are able to complete your request, or have changes to make to your request after filling out our form, please feel free to contact us via email at printingpaws@gmail.com. We will always do our very best to accommodate every request as they are asked of us within a timely manner.

Thank you!
